ATTACHING A SANDING SHEET
(FIG. 1)
Remove the plug from the power source.
Select the appropriate sandpaper for your
job.
To attach a sanding sheet, lift the
clamping levers up and out of the base
to release the clamps at both ends of
the sanding base.
Align the holes in the sanding sheet with
those in the base, insert one end of the
sanding sheet under the clamp and close
the clamping lever, draw the sanding
sheet tight over the sanding base and
then clamp the other end.
If the sheets do not have holes, attach
as described above and use the hole
punch as described below.
The sheet should be kept tightly clamped
over the base; otherwise there could be
excessive wear of the base materials.
NOTICE: Do not continue to use the
sander with a sanding sheet that is
excessively worn or damaged.
NOTICE: Do not use the same sanding
sheet for wood and metal. Metal particles
become embedded in the sanding sheet
and will scour a wooden surface.
NOTICE: Take care to regularly clean out
the dust build up on the base underneath
the sanding sheet and do not to allow the
sanding sheet wear completely down
before replacing it.
USING THE HOLE PUNCH
(FIG. 2)
If the sanding sheet does not already
have holes, it will be necessary to punch
holes into the sanding sheet using the
hole punch provided.
Place the hole punch on a level surface.
After attaching the sanding sheet, align
the base of the sander with the hole
punch and push down on the sander
until the hole punch pierces the sanding
sheet.
Remove the sander from the hole punch.
